Vol. I — HHX Student · Economics & Politics

Thor Sorensen

Curious about how the world works.

01—About

I'm an HHX student at IBC Kolding, in Denmark, trying to understand why some countries get rich and others get stuck arguing about it.

My interests sit at the intersection of markets and institutions — economics one week, electoral systems the next. I'm most drawn to the moments where the two collide: when a "sound" policy fails because nobody built the coalition to pass it, or when the numbers behind a claim turn out to be doing less work than advertised.

Outside class, I follow policy debates closely, take notes on papers I find convincing (or not), and spend a fair amount of time on statistics, finance, and photography. This site is a short, honest introduction — more will land here as the work does.

04—Photography

Film, mostly — slower, and harder to fake.

I shoot on vintage cameras and medium format film. There's something I like about the discipline it forces — you get far fewer frames, so you spend longer deciding what's worth one of them.
